Hello, I'm Magnus, a web developer based in Norway.

I am currently looking for new designers and agencies for long term high quality collaboration.

My preferred workflow

1
Scope and estimate

You provide an outline of the scope of the website. It can be wireframes, a complete design or purely a written description. I’ll get back to you in a day or two with a quote. My prices usually range from 5.000 to 15.000 USD/EUR for a complete website, but I also do projects below and above that range.

2
Design

You design the website (if you haven't already done so) and make sure it has been approved by the client.

3
Briefing

When it is ready, you pass me a link to your design. I prefer working in Figma, but I have worked with designers who have made websites in Photoshop, InDesign, and even Excel!

I usually understand most parts of any design, especially if it's designed using grids and design tokens. However some background might be needed for some aspects of the site. They can be done as comments in Figma, an interactive prototype or in a written document.

If needed we can also do a video chat, where you go through the website. I ask questions, to make sure everything is covered.

I usually also make some suggestions for interaction details or small improvements during this period.

4
Coding

I start coding the website and send you a preview link shortly after, where you can follow the progress.

You can learn more about how I code the website in the tech stack section.

5
Review

After a week or two, the website is ready for review. It's usually 99% complete at this stage, but we might need to discuss some last details.

6
Handover/launch

When the site is ready I can provide you with the codebase for the website.

If you want me to take care of launching and hosting the site, that would also be something I can do.

If needed, I can deliver video lessons that show how to use the CMS and maintain the site. These will be part of the control panel where editors log in.

7
Follow up

After the site is launched there might be need for some new features or amendments to existing ones. I'm available both for support and further development.

Tech stack

1
Frontend

I like to keep things simple and vanilla. I do use some build tools, to keep unused code out of the way, and I use Tailwind for writing CSS. I like GSAP for animations and interaction details, but other than that I try to stay clean of massive frameworks.

HTML is kept tidy, semantic and accessible. The accordions that you are currently navigating is an example of that. They work well both for screen readers, keyboards and mouse users. You can even combine mouse and keyboard use.

2
CMS

I prefer Craft CMS to build websites, as it's the most powerful and user friendly CMS I have ever used.

I tend to get a few requests from people who want to use Wordpress as their CMS. I always turn down these, as the editor experience can quickly become a nightmare. I actually get a lot of requests from clients who want to move away from Wordpress to a more user friendly and dynamic system. They usually love Craft.

I also turn down Webflow projects. It's a lovely system, but it often gets quite limited just for the smallest extra features that you might want to build.
